The Way of the Circle

“The circle is a container that is strong enough to hold just about anything that is poured into it.
Discover what is possible.”

The Way of the Circle is a practice of speaking, listening, and processing through the heart while letting go of any need to control, fix, or judge what is spoken or heard. The practice opens a deeper and more meaningful way of communicating and fosters compassion and empathy for one another.

The purpose of this practice is to deepen our connection to self, others, and God.  As we learn to become more present to self and to others, a deeper sense of God’s presence often arises to meet and flow through those participating in the Circle.

We participate in this practice as a way of allowing individuals to encounter one another in a safe and non-threatening manner, and to proactively build and strengthen relationships.

Clear and simple instructions will always be provided in advance of this practice, and participation is always optional. What is shared in each Circle is held in confidence among those participating.

Individuals are asked to enter this practice with five simple intentions:

  • Speak from the heart

  • Listen from the heart

  • Without feeling rushed - just say enough

  • Respect the talking piece and each other

  • Trust the process
